Recent lurker here, and a long-time creative force of nature. I'm an actor and emerging filmmaker out of Toronto, Canada who makes entertaining and forward-thinking women-led films and theatre content.

My previous work has been recognized by Valuecine for blowing gender parity on-screen out of the water (over 90% of screentime and dialogue by women!), and I'm currently in development on my first featrure film, as well as a television series in the one-hour genre space.

I'm always looking for more creative Cats to come join me on my Patreon. I share behind the scenes updates about what I'm working on and my creative processes, talk a lot about working in the industry, and share how to make money back on your films as an independent artist.

If any or all of those things sound exciting to you, I'd love to have you come join my community!

Welcome!

Yay!

>> I'm an actor and emerging filmmaker out of Toronto, Canada who makes entertaining and forward-thinking women-led films and theatre content.<<

I'm delighted to see someone improving the balance.

You might like some open-source fandoms that lean in a similar direction ...

The Blueshift Troupers is far-future science fiction with a cast about half female, designed so anyone can use it in a video or play.

Schrodinger's Heroes is quantum science fiction about saving the world from alternate dimensions, again about half female and designed for anyone to play with.

The Ursulan Cycle is genderbent King Arthur, thus almost entirely female cast.

[community profile] nineforthenebulasheart is older but came out of a Creative Jam here, science fantasy with a mostly female cast.

Progress!

I'm not on Patron myself, but some other folks here are into that.

By all means, keep sharing your crowdfunding activities here. There's a monthly post where folks talk about their recent accomplishments or future plans, plus the Creative Jam mid-month for sharing inspiration. Image prompts are totally welcome if you want to drop in pictures of yourself or your movie stills or whatever. That one of you with the guns is awesome.
