Hello! I'm hosting a Spooktober Prompt Call on my journal. I've described the theme in more detail, with examples, in the post linked. This is my chance to shape stories together with readers and write what you wish you could read.

Last year I wrote three stories for Spooktober '22, which you can read here. I hope to write many more stories this year. If I didn't get to your prompt last year, do comment again this year.

Prompting continues from now until Halloween, the end of October.

What I write will be posted for everyone to read. Right now, I accept tips in the form of Dreamwidth Points, and appreciate signalboosting to bring me more readers.

I hope to see new prompters and readers, and receive plenty of ideas to write plenty of stories.

Hello! I'm hosting a collaborative creative space on my journal. This is my chance to shape stories together with readers and write what you wish you could read. The theme is Spooktober. I've described the theme in more detail, with examples, in the Prompt Call on my journal. Prompting continues from now until Halloween.

What I write will be posted for everyone to read. Right now, funding is donation-based, and I will link my Tip Jar in relevant posts. Everyone who boosts the signal and shares word of the Spooktober prompt call gets to nominate a theme/topic for future prompt calls.

I hope to see new prompters and readers, and receive plenty of ideas to write plenty of stories.

Free Sketch Day is back!  This will be a sporadically recurring Event on silverflameart.com in which I will take one-to-two word prompts and create digital sketches for free.  Come on by and take a look!  I'll be taking prompts either until 10 p.m. CST or whenever I reach the cap-off limit of 25 prompts.

Hello! I am now holding Icon Day 06 to help me raise funds to move out of my currently toxic living situation. Requests will be open until January 1, 2014. Tipping any amount over $1 will also quality you for any of the group tip incentives. :)

I've also got discounted art commissions as individual tip incentives, including 20-icon sheets, which will be counted in the tip tally. I'm also raffling off one extra icon for everybody who signal boosts, with each unique signal boost per platform counting as one entry.

If you are interested in other ways to help, please see my main page for my Moving Out Fundraiser.

Every dollar helps me get one step closer to moving out and healing. Thank you so much, and please spread the word!

Those of you who read June's round up will know that I was going to try something I wasn't sure I was going to be capable of - writing 150,000 words in a month. Last time I did NaNoWriMo I did complete it in nine days, so I knew, theoretically, it was possible, but that didn't mean I would be able to do it. Especially as day care has been getting busier and busier. My total word count at the time I went to bed was 177,445, which included 80,000 words posted here, 20,000 words posted at Patreon, 25,000 for the novellas, and all of the adoption/rental stories that I owed people. Of course now that I've found that 150,000 words is actually rather easy I want to challenge myself again, so I'm thinking of attempting 200,000 words in November, although I am going to wait and see what happens before then before I make a decision.

Yesterday I spent most of the day posting. This is something I won't be doing again, but I found myself putting off the majority of that job until the end of the month, which meant I ended up posting, I think, about 25,000 words of fiction. I did realise there are several stories that need renaming, do I'll be doing that at some point this month, as well as working on getting the collections that aren't yet sorted all nice and easy to read. I will be having a couple of days off, first, though, to do some other things that need doing. The plan for tomorrow is to have a nice sort out of our room, as James has some time off and will be using it to work on the car, because I want to get everything in order. Our work/sleep schedules aren't great for getting things done sometimes.

Next month will be quieter. I'm still going to be posting 20,000 words of exclusive fiction to Patreon and 40,000 words of fiction here, not including Case - with the focus being Thear and the Magi.

Fiction posted:
The Case of the Counterfeit Enchantments: part 9, 109th continuation; part 9, 110th continuation; part 9, 111th continuation; part 9, 112th continuation; part 9, 113th continuation; part 9, 114th continuation; part 9, 115th continuation; and part 9, 116th continuation.

It can be found here. Really simple entry for people who like my Facebook Page - just click on the Giveaway tab at the top of the page and go down to the option - and then I have other option entries for people who comment at my website or chose to get involved (even with a simple email that says 'yes, this is something I want to do, how do I create a character/setting for ~~~ collection'). There are just over two days left and I need at least seven entries as I have seven prizes.

This weekend through Monday evening, I am offering a public channeling and Hero's Deck reading session on my LJ, offering answers from Astarte and my oracle cards to the questions you and others may have. One question may be asked without cost, and a donation of $5 or more allows you to ask a second; Hero's Deck readings are freely offered to all. You can also PM me or post anonymously if you'd like a more private reading.

If you're curious what these sessions are like, please look through my posts under the channeling and Hero's Deck tags.

Thank you!

Ever since I started crowdfunding I've tried to be a little different to the rest. The market I entered is competitive, so if I want to earn a living I know that I need to be. Fortunately I've been lucky enough to find myself helping out with the doggy day care that my landlords run, which means that I can take my time once more to get people interested in what I do, rather than being total focused on trying to make my website profitable right now. (James has his CT scan on the 29th and should get his results on the 6th of September, which might mean we find out more about what's causing his painful medical issue or it could be utterly pointless. With all these tests I feel very lucky that the NHS does exist, even though it isn't perfect, because I dread to think how much all the tests, appointments, and pills would have cost in the US.)

With my new aim in mind I'd like to offer free character adoptions and setting rentals to anyone who's interested, even if you've already had a freebie (although I'd prefer it if you could go for a different character or setting than you had before), and if you signal boost this offer publicly or to someone you think might be interested you can double the word count, add another character/setting, or get a second adoption/rental (to start at the end of the first) - just tell them to let me know who it was that sent them.

The basic freebie is either a 1 character adoption of 2000 words running for six months or a 1 setting rental of 2000 words running for six months. With the boosting bonus it is possible to go up to the top offer for both of the adoption (3 characters, 4000 words a month, for six months) or the rental (3 settings, 6000 words a month, for six months). Plus, taking part in any giveaway will mean you can get a purchased adoption or rental for half price.

I'm also looking for more stops on my blog tour - the fourth story was posted here - so if you'd be interested let me know.

Hello all you sleepy peoples! (Ah, August, when we'd all rather nap in the shade.)

I'm holding a channeling session this weekend at my LJ. Theresa can't be with us for it (she has a lot of work right now), but Bast and Horus have generously offered to provide answers to people's questions. I also have the Hero's Deck available, and I'm offering my own insight to boot.

One question of the gods is free, and I and the Deck will answer any number of questions asked during the session. Donations are accepted (via PayPal, or other arrangements can be made), with a donation of $5 or more allowing you to ask a second question of Bast and/or Horus.

The session will go from right now, until this coming Tuesday at 9am, or whenever after that I log in to close it. All questions within that time will be answered, and there will be a follow-up post on my blog with a general reading if anyone is interested in that.

Thank you for reading this post, and thank you in advance to those who participate.

Hi everybody!  I have a writeathon open, and I'll be taking prompts until August 7th.  The theme is wealth.

Much of our lives and societies are devoted to accumulating and distributing wealth.  But what exactly does it mean to be wealthy?  Is it money, land, livestock, artwork, the love and respect of the people around you?  What is it that is so valuable, people will go to great lengths to get it?  This writeathon, we pay homage to riches, be it gods bartering belief, the value of a child's toy, or the desperation of people left wanting.  I encourage people to think creatively of this theme!

This writeathon, I'm instituting a new bonus perk for my readers!  Come check it out!

Blog Tour

Jul. 15th, 2013 12:45 pm
[identity profile] moonwolf1988.livejournal.com
Would anyone like to host one of my stories on their blog or know someone who might? I'm looking to start a blog tour to get more readers, because I want to be able to help James more than I can right now, as he's still off work and right now there doesn't seem to be an end in sight. He's been on antibiotics for a month and he'll be starting his second month on Wednesday, because they aren't working as well as we'd hoped. At the end of the month he's going to have an ultrasound to see if anything else is causing the problem, but we have no idea when he might be able to get back to work, although we both keep hoping it will be soon.

What I'll send you is a new story, a link to the Beginner's Guide, and the download address of my crowdfunding brochure. I'm looking to post at one place a week for at least two months, but I'm hoping to find enough people who'd be happy to help for me to be able to have a six month tour.

I'm happy to host other writers and artists in return, even though I don't have a lot of readers right now.

This month, I am having a special fundraiser one card draw. My friends Kelly and Cory, Kelly's daughter Erin, and their four cats were victims of a fire last week. The fire started in their shed. There is extensive smoke and water damage to the house and, unfortunately, their insurance will not even begin to cover it all. I don't expect to be able to make a huge difference, but if we could fund several meals for them, that would be awesome!

As usual, I will be open for roughly 24 hours, so that all time zones have a chance. :) Also, please feel free to donate without asking for a read if you'd just like to help out! (And, as always, you can ask for a read without donating as well, though I really hope you will at least spread the word!)

Comment and I will pull a card for you from my original, unique bird oracle deck. Anyone and everyone is welcome! If you are facing a choice, the cards may help point in the most positive direction for you. You may request an overall card to meditate upon. You might want a card to let you know what new thing may come into your life in the near future, or what is the most important thing facing you at this time. You may ask a specific question and we will see how the universal subconscious will answer it for you. However you use this opportunity, I hope it will be helpful!

A quick note: The more detail you give in your request, the better I can interpret the card's meaning for you, which is my role as intermediary, however, even just a general request will get my best effort; it's up to you.

Today, I'm working for donations; please help my friends if you can! I am starting off the fundraising myself today with $40. For every hundred dollars we raise, I will give away one Complex Nest reading. (Winners will be notified by email; only those who donate can win, but donations can be as little as $1.) If we reach my goal of $350, I will send one lucky winner the bird oracle card of their choice. This is the first time I have made this offer; my deck is not available for purchase. You will be the first person besides me to have a copy of one of my cards! Thank you!

(Why is February so hard to spell???)

Anyway, I'm having a prompt session, so please leave me prompts. The theme is weather as I had so much fun coming up with prompts for  I thought I'd have just as much fun writing stories for prompts on that theme. As always I'm open to random number prompts if you're having trouble coming up with anything more detailed.

Five hundred words will be written for every prompt, more words can be purchased using money or credits, and there are both session perks and donor perks. Linking will also lead to more words, five hundred per platform, so using three platforms will gain a prompter 1,500 words which can be used in any way.
[identity profile] moonwolf1988.livejournal.com
The first random number session of 2013 is up and running.

Give me a random number and I'll write you 500 words of fiction. Check my website, or my mirror sites, for more information.
[identity profile] moonwolf1988.livejournal.com
I've had one entry, so I'm keeping the raffle open a couple more days, and if you want to comment here then feel free. Every name you give me, for your favourite characters, collections and stories you'd like to see more of, will get you one entry into the raffle, and you can choose your prize, so if you've been wanting a six month setting rental but haven't been able to afford it then this is your chance. Maybe you'll be lucky.
[identity profile] moonwolf1988.livejournal.com
I'm having another prompt session, this one a little different from the others.

(Taken from kajoneswriting.co.uk.) I’m looking for a number of different things. Names; personality traits; disabilities (both visible and invisible); song lyrics; pictures; short prompts (eg. yellow book or midnight lamp); and I may add more things as I think of them. Once I have a number of these I’ll put them into a randomiser, give them all numbers, and use them as a form of self-created bingo challenge. The reason I’m doing this is because I get inspired by lots of different things, I want to write more stories, and I think doing this will make it much more fun.

My plan is to write 500 words for every prompt I receive. For every link posted to this prompt session I’ll write another 500 words for a prompt of the linkers choice and write 500 words for a prompt/previously written story of my choice. If I receive ten prompts I’ll write 1000 words of a prompter’s story and then for every prompt after the tenth I’ll add another 500 words. (End)

Feel free to prompt here if you wish, or at the website, or at kajones_writing on either LJ or DW.

[identity profile] moonwolf1988.livejournal.com
For the next four days, or more if the session goes well, I'm looking for prompts. It's been Donor House month, so I'm after Donor House prompts, and Halloween prompts.Check it out on DW or LJ.

I've also posted a Commissions page.
