My poem "Eggs Under Moon" has been published in Cast of Wonders, a young adult audio magazine. The poem came out of the March 1, 2011 Poetry Fishbowl, inspired by a prompt from [livejournal.com profile] xjenavivex. There are three different recordings of it read by different speakers, which I think is especially cool. This is a crowdfunded magazine too; there's a donation button in the sidebar.

April is National Poetry Month. Some folks are planning to participate in Poem A Day all month or Poem in Your Pocket Day on April 26. I'd love to see some crowdfunded poetry projects too. It's a great time to experiment with crowdfunding if you haven't tried it for poetry yet. Post here and let us know what you're planning!

In my continuing effort to collect data about using Kickstarter for funding art projects, I've launched another project very similar to the last, to pay for a print copy of my fantasy serial A Rosary of Stones and Thorns. Backer prizes include everything from e-book and autographed print book copies to hand-made angel doodle bookmarks and vials of essential oil blends.

My last Kickstarter for Spots went 200%+ over goal to finish up at $3500. I am in the "send out rewards" phase and am taking notes on how it's going. In the meantime, someone linked me these insights from IndieGoGo on what tends to make for a successful project on a site like Kickstarter.

Do stop by the Rosary project to at least check out my video. It has paper puppets. >.>

I've closed the poll about self-promotion.  There's a slight margin toward keeping the ban on nominating oneself for an award.  Allowing for one person who changed her vote, there's a slight margin toward allowing people to vote for themselves (once nominated by someone else).

Also, there's very strong support for giving people an opportunity for self-promotion that may encourage nominations, thank you [livejournal.com profile] robling_t for the proposal.  So when the 2013 award season opens in January, there will be a post inviting people to list their eligible projects and patronage.
