Planning Poetry Projects for April

April is National Poetry Month. Some folks are planning to participate in Poem A Day all month or Poem in Your Pocket Day on April 26. I'd love to see some crowdfunded poetry projects too. It's a great time to experiment with crowdfunding if you haven't tried it for poetry yet. Post here and let us know what you're planning!

Not crowdfunded, but definitely participant-friendly: I'm planning on a repeat of the April Haikai Fest I hosted last year.

Take a breath, and breathe words, thoughts, sounds, symbols, air, yourself out into the world. It's April, and as good a time as any for a collaborative haiku/haikai poetry fest. Below find a starting stanza or two of a brand new shiny haikai (what's a haikai, you ask? think extended haiku: alternating stanzas of 5-7-5 and 7-7). Comment with a new stanza/haiku responding to the original theme. Someone (most likely me) will respond with another stanza, and so on and so forth throughout the day.

I'll probably clean up the description, but the basic premise is still the same.

I'm planning to do a poem a day either in my journal or my pro blog [still debating there], as well as doing a Free Poem Day event on Friday, 6 April 2012, to celebrate the April new moon and Easter.
