Paypal Tip Jars
Nov. 10th, 2014 03:01 pmI'm not certain if anyone else has seen it, but when I edited my tip jar today I saw this: Note: This button is intended for fundraising. If you are not raising money for a cause, please choose another option. Not-for-profit organisations must verify their status to withdraw the donations they receive. Users that are not verified not-for-profit organisations must demonstrate how their donations will be used, once they raise more than $10,000 USD.
Maybe it's time for them to create a crowdfunding button, for those of us who do use them, because there is no other option for permitting people to give what they want. Fortunately I think it's going to be a very long time before I reach it - I just know there are other people who might much quicker than I do, so I wanted to warn everyone, as I don't remember seeing anything about this here.

Date: 2014-11-10 03:14 pm (UTC)$10,000 to me, now seems much easier to reach than it once was, although that could be due to how much I'm making from ghostwriting, as I didn't think I'd ever make $1000 in a month and now I have, although not from crowdfunding. Another thing to take into consideration is how much that is for someone in the UK, like me, because $10,000 is £6,290(ish) and that, to me, doesn't look like a lot of money. If I was to get lucky and make £300 a month for 21 months I would reach that limit.
Elizabeth is the one of us who makes the most, so if anyone is close to that limit it will be her.
