This is an advance posting for the March Poetry for the Masses! I will be hosting it on my journal (dreamwidth and livejournal) March 8-9. The month's theme "rebirth".
Please consider leaving ideas or prompts, as well as boosting the signal. I will post the month's perks closer to the date.
**
Also, if anyone should be interested, these poems are still available for funding:
Trailing
That a historian could become a politician, much less be appointed to the highest office would have been preposterous,
if it was not that he claimed it was fate.
Promised Land
Because in 1945, the United States never invaded Japan, defaulting to the neutral-Italy.
This is a Silk Road Allies poem.
Directly following 'Promised Land' is Averted.
With the China South Sea Crisis solved, Napolitano retired with the President and Premier back to his hotel. They ordered drinks in place of tea, and sat tensely in the bar.
This is a Silk Road Allies poem.
Safe Room
Hunter had never been able to explain
just why he felt safe in the rare book room...

Prompts
Date: 2013-02-24 10:06 pm (UTC)* how the dryads feel about spring.
* a spell to recover burned books from the ashes.
Re: Prompts
Date: 2013-03-10 01:47 pm (UTC)From your prompt "a spell to recover burned books from the ashes", I got the poem "Best Intentions", the story of how Gilbert Rome gained his Immortality.
Immortality was not his intention, a life, perhaps.
He had followed the Roman Army, stood on the Capital
when Brutus stabbed Caesar, someone needed to stay alive
to tell the tales. He wrote.
This Poetry for the Masses! is a pay-what-you-will scale.

Date: 2013-03-10 02:04 pm (UTC)The flowers came earlier every year,
the thaw whispering across lands
before the earth was ready. They shivered,
in the flimsiness of their dresses,
diving back into their trees to keep warm."
