[identity profile] ysabetwordsmith.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] crowdfunding
What cyberfunded creativity projects have you donated to or participated in lately? What made them special enough to attract your support?

What do you want that you haven't been seeing, or would like to see more of?  Do you have ideas that you want to prompt, but aren't sure what creator would be a good match for them?

I'm sitting home sick and going through old posts in the crowdfunding community looking to see what hasn't been nominated that I have enjoyed.

I've noticed that this particular periodic posting doesn't get much participation.

I am wondering if retitling this post to something like "Do You Have Any Crowdfunded Projects to Recommend?" would get more comments, not being directed solely to donors?

Just a thought.

My thought was if you limit the title to people who have _already_ supported, your pool of potential/likely commenters is smaller.

Also, people often don't think of leaving comments or telling their friends/blogging/tweeting/etc. as "support". I suspect we'll be educating people that word-of-mouth advertising is just as important a form of support as donations/subscriptions/buying products for a very long time.

So, if you as about "recent support", some of the people we want to hear from may not realize the question is directed at them.

Also, just asking for recommendations might help some people to become comfortable with supporting projects they like--after all, posting a recommendation here is a form of word-of-mouth advertising.

I know you started this recurring question to help donors feel welcomed in this community; I don't know if it is working as far as that goal is concerned, since there are so few answers posted. I wonder things like: How many donors are members? Do donors want more privacy than creators? Is there some other factor involved?

I certainly don't have all the answers!

Thanks for the suggestion regarding the tag!
