Latest Serial Kickstarter
Aug. 6th, 2012 02:32 pmMy fantasy of manners among aliens, Black Blossom, is now up on Kickstarter! The Kickstarter will be funding e-book and print versions; if we go over goal, we'll also arrange for an unabridged audiobook version! Three hours after launch we're already over 1/3rd of the way to our target!
I've been serializing Black Blossom on my blog and livejournal for a year and a half now, and it's been my most successful serial so far. I've run the numbers and Black Blossom made more a month than any other serial I've run to date (and I've run six serials so far!). I probably won't ever be sure why; I suspect its success is a combination of factors including my offering subscriptions for the first time, the story being a sequel to two other stories (The Aphorisms and Admonishments of Kherishdar, respectively), and me offering to post more episodes based on funding levels.
Whatever the case, if you want to read more about the project, you can check its wiki page. And of course, the kickstarter's running and offering fabulous prices, including e-book versions of all three Kherishdar volumes. Check it out, if you're into genteel fantasies with a lot of sociological/linguistic flourishes.
