Well, obviously I am a complete newbie, but so far I have found PayPal pretty important, and LJ/DW, of course, and Bandcamp looks promising and I have a page there.

I've read about Kickstarter as being a way to raise funds to create albums, but have been too intimidated to actually try it. I prefer my committments small and cute, one-step-at-a-time type things.

Anybody else have suggestions? I am particularly interested in things that might apply to music, since that's my thing.

There's a crowdfunding hub site especially for musicians called Sellaband. It can be used to fund things like albums, concerts, recordings, etc.
