The current issue of The Lorelei Signal is now out, with my story "On the Rocks." This is the first Torn World story that I've sold to an outside market. It shows Eshra as a young ranger in Itadesh, dealing with frisky snow-unicorn foals and a less-than-helpful partner. Then a fit of mischief turns into a much riskier situation, and Eshra must figure out how to save the precious filly.

The Lorelei Signal is a crowdfunded webzine. There are donation buttons where you can send money to the writer or artist of a given item, or to the magazine as a whole. If you can spare a little something, please show your support for this webzine that specializes in strong female characters.

This story started as a prompt I posted in Sketch Fest: "A Torn World scene in which a young snow-unicorn climbs a cliff like a goat would, while a horrified herder tries to coax it down." ellenmillion drew a sketch based on that, which she later refined and inked. The scene inspired me to write "On the Rocks."
