[identity profile] moonwolf1988.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] crowdfunding
Channel 4 News just had a piece on crowdfunding in the UK. There was an interview with the creators of Unbound, which looks like a UK version of Kickstarter for books; a band who used crowdfunding to make their first album; and a bit at the end about there being a crowdfunded version of the Ladykillers on stage soon. Of course they also included someone saying that the editing process that a book goes through in a publishers is very important. I don't know if you'll be able to see it online anywhere, but I thought you'd all like to know about this.

Yay!

Thank you for sharing. This is great to hear. I'd love to see more posts about crowdfunding in the news.

I added a link to it on my crowdfunding economics page, where I have a list of crowdfunding websites:

Editing is important, but conventional publishing isn't the only source of editors. Some work freelance -- some will even work for barter rather than cash. I do freelance editing, and I think there are other folks on this list who do it also.

I'm particularly intrigued by the way you've arranged your fiction project with perks for people who spot typos. That's very appealing to me. I'm toying with the idea of some kind of kickback for the folks who help me with revisions.
