Tomorrow begins the LiveJournal Spotlight for
crowdfunding. So far we've done a pretty good job of preparing for this event, which is expected to bring a flood of new visitors (and hopefully members) to our community. You may want to backtrack to the announcement post, schedule post, and first update. Here's our progress report as of Sunday afternoon ...
Done
* Posted at least one thing per day from July 12-17, so the time prior to the Spotlight shows good activity.
* Added
janetmiles as a maintainer/moderator for the Spotlight week, to help manage traffic. Thank you!
* Scheduled a post about EMG-zine by
ellenmillion for Sunday. This meets the goal of planning at least one content post per day during the Spotlight, covering different types of crowdfunded project.
* Scheduled a one-card draw by
wrenstarling for Thursday, July 28 as part of the followup, so there will still be stuff going on after the Spotlight concludes.
* Updated the 2011 Rose & Bay Awards landing page.
* Updated Profile page and Links sidebar for
crowdfunding.
* Organized "featured crowdfunding type" posts for Monday-Saturday.
* Organized project posts. We have one live crowdfunding event and several project descriptions planned.
* Organized two discussion posts.
Needs Attention
* More live crowdfunding projects would be helpful. This place should be rolling with eyeballs all week; take advantage of that!
* We need more discussion posts: open questions, Q&A, polls, etc. Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday would especially benefit from this. Speak up if you're available.
* Someone needs to do a post about the Rose & Bay Awards; volunteer(s) needed.
* We could use more followup during July 25-31 to keep activity flowing. Does anyone have crowdfunding plans for that week?
Finally, a round of applause to the 13+ people who have already volunteered to post or otherwise help out during Spotlight week. Your support is deeply appreciated, and you help make this community a success. Thank you all.
