The
crowdfunding community will be featured in LiveJournal Spotlight, starting on Monday, July 18. Previously we discussed this in the planning post and schedule post. Now let's take a look at what we've accomplished so far, and what still needs attention...
Done
* Updated Profile page and Links sidebar for
crowdfunding.
* Organized "featured crowdfunding type" posts for Monday-Saturday.
* Organized project posts. We have one live crowdfunding event and several project descriptions planned.
* Organized two discussion posts.
Needs Attention
* We have a possible volunteer for temporary maintainer/moderator work during the Spotlight.
* Post about a nonfiction crowdfunding project on Sunday. Someone please volunteer for this.
* More live crowdfunding projects would be helpful. This place should be rolling with eyeballs all week; take advantage of that!
* We need more discussion posts: open questions, Q&A, polls, etc. Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday would especially benefit from this. Speak up if you're available.
* Update the 2011 Rose & Bay Awards landing page.
* Someone needs to do a post about the Rose & Bay Awards; volunteer(s) needed.
* Followup during July 25-31 to keep activity flowing. Does anyone have crowdfunding plans for that week?
I've gotten some excellent leads from people recommending someone else for an activity. Who are some of your favorite crowdfunding folks who you think might be interested in participating in Spotlight week festivities?

I'm thinking about doing little abstract paintings to prompts and optional tips, with some incentive goals, but I don't know if I'll be ready to do that by the week after next.
Yes, please!
Date: 2011-07-16 05:07 am (UTC)That would be wonderful, thanks; I've added it to the schedule. I am trying to spread things out, but it's more to avoid overloading anyone. People can post as much as they want.

Cool idea. Don't worry about timing, just post about it whenever the project comes together.

Date: 2011-07-16 11:40 am (UTC)Hrm. I could do a short (say, six hours or so) Crowdfunding community only one card draw on the 27th or 28th, if you think that would be good...
Yes...
Date: 2011-07-16 09:56 pm (UTC)Sure, though it's more likely to wind up being post excerpts than a whole post. It doesn't need to be written from scratch because we've already got bunches of stuff about the Rose & Bay Awards, just need to summarize and point people.

Yes, that would be lovely! Thank you very much. I'll put you down for the 28th.
