Apparently I've been doing it for my 15+ years of writing online fiction, though; between collaborative writing, online volunteer prereaders and editors, and lately offering print books with mixes of free online and paid exclusive content.
I think the #1 issue on my list is, how do I PROMOTE a cyberfunded creative project? Right now I have maybe 50-80 readers, approximate, and only a small portion of those are vocal; the rest only appear in web page stats. The book itself sold about 25 copies. Glad it's on-demand printing.
I'd love to expand my reader base but I don't even know where to start. Crowdfunding is difficult to roll with when you don't have much of a crowd.

That sounds cool. Yes, a few people have been doing this sort of thing long before it became popular.
