This is an opportunity for folks to discuss the business aspects of crowdfunding. What would you like to know about cyberfunded creativity and how it works? Do you want advice on a current or planned project? Ask your questions in a comment on this post.

Date: 2010-08-04 12:00 am (UTC)We're happy to have you here. This is a place for creative people to discuss what crowdfunding projects they are working on, and for patrons to talk about which projects excite them enough to donate.
>>Is this a place where people can advertise services/goods available on their websites? <<
That depends on the context. If it's a crowdfunded project, then yes, links to it and announcements about it are welcome. You can see examples of crowdfunded projects in the Links list for ideas.
If it's stuff that isn't crowdfunded per se, but might be useful to someone who is assembling such a project -- say, cover paintings or editorial services -- then it can be advertised in one of the periodic "Service Call: What can you do?" posts for networking. We just did one of those recently; scroll back and you should see it.
>>I guess I want to know everything - perhaps there's a post you can direct me that explains it all.<<
Well, there's too much going on to fit in a single post! A good place to start is by reading the Profile, which describes the community's purpose and gives a brief introduction to cyberfunded creativity.
Next, browse the Memories; you'll find a bunch of thoughtful posts that explain various aspects of crowdfunding and some of the community activities. In particular I recommend:

"How to Boost Your Audience"

If you have more questions, feel free to ask.
