Sketch Fest

Last Friday and Saturday, for 24 hours, 30 artists got together virtually and jammed on audience-provided prompts to produce sketches, spending no more than one hour apiece. We ended up created 144 sketches, and a fabulous, creative time was had by all. For our full wrap-up, and a poll about future webpage features (including registration questions): http://community.livejournal.com/emglivejournal/6279.html

Torn World

The original idea for the Sketch Fest came out of Torn World's Muse Fusion (which traces its basis back to [livejournal.com profile] ysabetwordsmith's Poetry Fishbowl and further!). Our sixth Muse Fusion was on Sunday, for 12+ hours. Only two of us (myself and [livejournal.com profile] wyld_dandelyon were able to be there, but we had 7 people leaving prompts (everyone got at least one item created for their prompts!) and produced between us 5 complete short stories, a poem and a sketch. Stories and poems are available for public sponsorship, and the sketch is being crowd-funded to completion. People who left us prompts got to see the rough drafts that we completed for their ideas!

Torn World itself is going strong! We've been publishing for just over half a year now, and aside from a week here and there, have been putting up new material almost every weekday. We've got an impressive collection of short stories, poetry, artwork and world-building article resources - and that's just what's available publicly! More goodies await for registered readers, and yet more for supporters. Your subscription dollars go principally to the artists and authors you wish to support, providing a reward system for active and quality contributors.

EMG-Zine

Did you know that we have 55 issues of EMG-Zine available on-line for you? Each issue has articles on the making of artwork, writing and the business of both, leaning towards the fantasy and science fiction genre. We're seeking non-fiction, short stories, poetry and artwork for our monthly themed issues. Upcoming themes include Ravens, Bards, Storms, African mythology, Creation, Rabbit, Gryphons, Wind, Dryads, Jewels, Butterflies, Owls, Mushrooms, Scandinavian Mythology, Frogs, and Ships. Full guidelines are here and the art uploading form is here.

Other Services

The newly organized Fantasy Art Shop should be back on-line this week, with a completely new business model and set-up. It is in beta-testing now, and is getting good reviews from my testers!

I am also available for custom web programming - I'll have a full landing page with information shortly, but if you are interested in details, please feel free to contact me!
