No news, per se, but I have an idea...for those in the pagan community, author Isaac Bonewits is suffering from cancer, and is not doing well. Hospice was brought in over the weekend. They have donation buttons set up on their website, neopagan.net, to help with the mounting medical bills. Perhaps a fundraiser of some sort would help them out and give both Isaac and his wife Phaedra some badly-needed joy and comfort.... Apologies if this doesn't quite meet the topic - still new to the crowdfunding concept.
Isaac is a fun guy. (I've met him, and worked with him on some projects.)
I've seen some crowdfunded activities where artists and/or writers basically donated their work to encourage cash donations. Something like that might work here. I don't have the time to organize it, alas -- summer is my busy writing season.
I wasn't able to make it up to NY for a fundraiser that Isaac was still well enough to attend about a month ago, so I auctioned off a pendant on Ebay and donated 100% of the selling price, which ended up being $60. I wouldn't mind donating something again. The next few weeks are a bit nuts for me as well, though, between art show season starting up, and trying to find employment. I really don't like offering to head up a project if I can't give 100% to it. :(
Actually, I have quite a few pagan authors friended on FB...I wonder if they all would be willing to donate at least one autographed book to be auctioned off, and proceeds donated to Isaac and Phae? Is there a way to set up a website or a page for that? I know other people have done similar things here on LJ......

Check the 'Causes' feature. I think that can be used to create fundraisers.
