I'm so happy to hear that this got fully funded. It's a much-needed perspective.
I would enjoy seeing more reports of crowdfunded projects outside what we're doing here on LiveJournal. I think it'll help boost our audience if we offer more diversity.
It's great news - I think it's such a deserving film. The director, Nathaniel Hansen, seems like such a nice guy too. I shall keep my eye out for another interesting project. ;)
Hey, we're talking about racism in film casting over on my LJ right now, started because Avatar: The Last Airbender cast Caucasian actors as characters who are actually Asian or something else. I got to thinking that crowdfunding would be a great way to fund films that make better use of ethnic actors. So if you spot a promising project with a strong ethnic cast, especially an adaptation of ethnic literature or mythology, I'd love to hear about it.
