Question

[identity profile] pensandquills.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] crowdfunding
Just had a question for those of you who are serious about this particular venture. Has anyone thought to create some sort of social network for crowdfunders and for people to find crowdfunded projects?

If so, where is it so that I may joing to gain helpful insights? If not, may I volunteer to get one set up? (Providing there is an interest in this particular idea.)

Or am I overstepping my bounds with such a post? I know that I'm fairly new here still. Just really would love to help and I have some experience setting up networks on Ning rather than just groups or communities here on LJ.

So far, what we have as an all-styles crowdfunding hub is this community. There are some sites that promote webcomics or webfiction with crowdfunding aspects. Ning is okay as a networking site, but doesn't have the capability for a lot of the things we'd want and need.

We would really like to have a big hub site that would promote all types of crowdfunding, with features to help creators and patrons connect and find stuff they will enjoy. We have yet to find a programmer with the necessary skills and time to build that, although several discussions and attempts have been made along those lines.

this is an excellent idea. Have you given some thought in using an already existing platform such as Facebook, blogger, etc?

I hope this truly works out!

Thanks for this post!
