[identity profile] flutterbychild.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] crowdfunding
What day/time of day do you feel most people respond to posts? I am going to scan a few of my Sketchuary drawings at the end of the month and post them to [livejournal.com profile] therebirthofme; people who are interested in seeing more can do so at a price of $2 each. The problem is that my audience isn't particularly active when I tend to post, which is in the evenings and on weekends (I'm in the Eastern time zone).

I'd also like to expand my audience.

Any ideas/suggestions?

For me, mornings and nights are good for me (since my older daughter is at school in the day and my youngest is asleep by night).

My audience isn't particularly active as well, me being in the Southern Hemisphere (your morning, my night). But I try to make a general info post so that at least they are aware of what's going on.

How to expand your audience? Keep posting stuff. Be active, interact with them. Having a small group of people who care is a very good thing.

Hmm...

Highest daily traffic is on Monday-Tuesday, tapering off later in the week; lowest is on the weekend. Highest hourly traffic seems to be midmorning through early afternoon, sometimes with another little bump early in the evening. Late night and early morning are slow.

Remember the marketing premise that repetition builds sales. You might have better luck posting one sketch per week, rather than a handful all at once. You could then do a wrap-up post at the end.

My experience has been that you can 'draw' traffic if you announce things: ie, Mondays are a high traffic day. So, you announce on Monday morning your plan, and then follow through.

But, in general, the highest traffic days are Monday and Tuesday, morning and early afternoon (before 4pm), with the rest of the work week (Wed-Fri) continuing traffic fairly well. Friday night and Saturday are pretty dead, Sunday day is usually also dead, with a small bump in traffic Sunday night.

In my experience. ;) Which is why I announce my draws on Monday, always. I bring my traffic to me. Otherwise, I am certain I'd have no one there.
