Analyzing a Failed Fiction Project

Recently I made an attempt at crowdfunding with fiction. It did not work. You may find the post-project analysis useful.

Has anyone else had experience with crowdfunding projects that just totally failed to get off the ground? What do you think went wrong?

For a while, though, my computer has been getting slower and slower; it jams for minutes at a time and makes it very difficult for me to accomplish even the minimum of stuff I need to do. I can't really afford a new one. So that's seriously undercutting my ability to participate in LJ and other stuff. It's really frustrating.
