New project :) Well my first.
Jul. 26th, 2009 04:56 pmHi :) I'm a writer based in New Zealand. I do science fiction and fantasy mainly - my bibliography is on my journal profile. I'm about to start a crowdfunded venture on a new journal,
avepasifika, because the crowdfunding method seems to suit my writing/production style. I'm not entirely sure how the journal will work, so I guess I'll have to just make things up as they go along.
Ave Pasifika is about sky-pirates in the year 2040 and the foundation of new "territories" that fly above the ocean. I've written numerous stories set in this world already, and you can read two of them online: Signs over the Pacific and Greenwich Mean Time Plus. Please be aware that these stories are rated NC-17 and touch on adult concepts, sex, and contain foul language - amongst other things.
I'd love to start off with a few readers as I get things going, and would really appreciate the commentary from crowdfunding experts.
Ave Pasifika should kick off mid-August, once I've finished the illustrations and livejournal layout. Thanks so much for taking the time to read this introduction.
Edit: After a bit of thought I've decided to publish dependent on the number of friends the journal has. Every 6-10 new friends/followers (dependent on chapter length) gets a new chapter. Here's hoping to find friends. :)
