Advice to Musicians from Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails

I thought this was interesting; Trent Reznor (of NIN) posted on his forums about advising new musicians on the market today. He talks about giving the music away and making money on special edition items or merchandise, and the use of forums, social networking and community-building as prime importance. His own site is a great example of this... elusivetiger was telling me there's even a new forum function that allows users to locate one another so they can go meet other fans.
