I am Nyela, a visual artist who is primarily a painter, but works in a variety of other media, including printmaking, collage, and sculpture. I have been mentioned in a few of![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
ysabetwordsmith's entries here, but wanted to properly introduce myself.
My paintings are both surreal and symbolic, and tell stories that are at once deeply personal and largely universal. I am inspired by, as I like to say, everything and nothing; history and culture (primarily of African Americans) and my life and the lives of those I encounter are just examples of my influences.
I am new to cyberfunded creativity, and am usingtherebirthofme to share myself and my work with others, as a place to generate discussion and new ideas based on the works I have created. It is my hope that I find those who are willing to support my ideas and donate so that I can continue to create.
