Most of you know me already, I think.

I've written and drawn for a long time, with some minor success at publishing in genre circles... enough to qualify for SFWA. But fans kept asking for stories faster than editors were accepting them, so I decided to go the direct route.

My first project in this vein, The Aphorisms of Kherishdar, was completely reader-funded and is about to hit print.

My second project, The Admonishments of Kherishdar, is already doing better than its predecessor.

Based on these two successes, I'm planning on expanding into more short fiction and art, choosing the things that people seem most interested in to finish. I have a rough idea of a "publishing schedule" for this year which I plan to make clearer on my website, Stardancer.Org, once we finish its major code re-factor.

I'm having a lot of fun with this avenue. I enjoy the direct contact with my viewers and the pleasure of a responsive audience. I like delivering things I know they're going to enjoy. And I like that I've made more money doing this than I have in almost nine years of attempting the commercial publication route.

We'll see how it goes in the future. :)

Thanks for taking the time to post; I know how busy you are.

I'm pleased to hear that "Admonishments" is doing even better than "Aphorisms" did. I'm startled to hear that you've made more money this way than in all of that traditional publishing! Wow.

I am really looking forward to seeing the hardcopy of Aphorisms. Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but I really like stories in a tangible state - the feel of paper and the act of turning pages feels more like 'real reading.'

I'm glad to hear Admonishments is going so well, too!
