I'm working on a bare-bones oracle deck design and debating the merits of a Kickstarter that's essentially deck preorders in order to get a lower price per unit from makeplayingcards dot com.

Two oracle decks, really. One is, each card has one zodiac sign and one of Moon, Venus, Ceres, Pallas, Juno, or Vesta. The other is the same only instead of Moon etc it's Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, or Pluto. Sun could go in either; to even the numbers Sun should go in the first, but to divide by assumed genders, in the second. (Which probably means Sun will go in the first.) I thought about having a single deck for the lot, but I can't get more than 130 cards in! I'd have to ditch four of the fourteen, and I'm not ditching the asteroids—and fine, a reading without Uranus, Neptune, or Pluto would probably go okay? but without Saturn? no.

Or, hey, you know what I could do wrt Kickstarter. The first X backers—enough to hit goal A—get a total of A / X decks, rounded (of course) down. Once goal A is hit, goal B comes into play and so does a new, less expensive reward level. Anyone who backs at the new one-deck reward level gets one deck, and anyone who backs at the original one-deck reward level gets one deck plus something to make up in value the difference in price between a deck at level B and a deck at level A. Etc.

(I'm also debating digital designs vs hand-drawn designs scanned...the problem with the latter is I'd be tempted to embellish! and I've got 168 of these cards, plus the back design, to put together already!)

January is when we are planning to push photopigs to funding. We still have a few site issues and trailer video to make. And I'll be out of town twice! We got the site up, running, workflows down, and many, many problems solved. I also got really good view count on one of my articles. We are starting to ramp up our content.

We are also starting to talk April 1 content, because if we do something cool it's time to get cracking. I didn't think about it at first, because other places I did Social Media and PR for weren't good fits for April Foolery. A photography site is, though. People look for links for sites having a goof, so it's a good time for site promoting!

Also, anyone know why DW links do not show up in referral links lists? I know I've gotten click troughs from DW, but it does not show up.
