Hello! I'm a composer, mostly of choral music. Some of it is religious, and some of it is secular; some accompanied, some not; some easy to sing, some more difficult.

You can listen to some of my music at this YouTube playlist of demo tracks; all of it can be downloaded in .pdf format from my page at the Choral Public Domain Library.

I use a Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike license, or sometimes Attribution Non-Commercial if that's the license the author I'm working with wants to use. There are lots of reasons I do this, but the two big ones are that costs of sheet music can be prohibitive for choirs, preventing people with low incomes from performing new music; and that I would like my work to be freely available to others to use after my death, rather than fifty or seventy or howevermany years afterward.

For the last couple of years I've been using Patreon to crowdfund my composing. This is how I could afford to get the demo recordings made, and I can happily say it has been a positive experience for me.

I'm now doing a PhD in choral composition, and to do that I quit or took extended leave from my other paid work. The drop in income, and having to pay tuition fees, has come at a difficult time and I am struggling more than I thought I would. So I am having a November Patron Drive in order to broaden my support base. I've re-vamped my reward levels, and commissioned some artwork from an independent artist; all new patrons in November will receive a postcard, and there are options at various levels of support to receive postcards more regularly, too.

If you like my music and you're able to support me or publicise my November Patron Drive to your own networks, I'd appreciate that very much. I'm also interested in feedback about how to make a patron drive like this better -- what can you see that I'm doing that could be improved? What works well for you in your own crowdfunding if you do it? What doesn't?

Thanks for your time and your input.
