I feel like I'm always begging...

...and I don't like it; but things are so messed up right now.

The other day I set up a chipin (because I'd been told I shouldn't use indiegogo for this) (http://catrionasea.chipin.com/to-save-the-house/) at $6500 because that's what we need by the end of the year (by then we should be out of this place and into Dad's place if they don't foreclose it and not be stretched so thin having to make double payments on living places). I feel weird about not compensating donors in some way; but I was also worried that tarot as an offering might scare people away.

((If anyone has any suggestions of other places I could go to tell people about it MUCH appreciated))

Then I thought maybe I should cut it down (which I did) to what we need to make it to the end of the week, which is actually $275.76 but that would leave us with $0 in case we need gas or run out of milk or something.

So, here's what I'm doing now, aside from the chip-in.

Cutting to the chase.

I need to have an additional $300 in the bank account by the 15th otherwise the mortgage will either overdraft us or bounce—not sure which.

To that end I’m going to half price readings. I can’t do coupons or sales using the website’s built in shopping cart because I have a free account, and to activate sales I have to set up to be billed $15/month which understandably I can’t afford.

The Golden Mask: super-sexy swashbuckling at Indiegogo!

The Golden Mask is our next crowdfunded project, a swashbuckling adventure serial that will run on our site, Adventurotica.com, updating three times a week starting in October.

I would not be asking for your attention if we did not have something entertaining to show you up front. Behold our book trailer in all its majesty. It is hilarious (at least I think so) precisely because it is incredibly crappy. (Rest assured, our writing is not crappy.)

A shorter description is this: The Golden Mask is sort of like Zorro and Catwoman versus Darth Vader and Rasputin, with Caligula as king, wrapped up in Three Musketeers-style swashbuckling and tied together with string cheese. Only way, way sexier than that sounds. It is exactly the kind of full-throttle cheesy adventure that you, in your heart of hearts, crave . . . only we don't fade to black and leave you to write the slash parts yourselves. (Although if you want to, we won't complain.)

We will have airships and dashing heroes, masked heroines, swordfighting courtesans, noblemen in disguise, intrigue, brothels, falls from great heights, clashing steel, swinging from ropes, chandelier drops, really bad bad guys, and a whole lot of sex. I am also pretty sure there will be explosions.

We are using this money to live for the next four months; I'm disabled and have not yet succeeded in getting disability, my husband is severely limited in what he can do, and has not been able to find a job. I hate to ask so blatantly, but if y'all could join up or spread the word about the campaign, I'd be really, really grateful.

Also, we're looking for suggestions for where we could promote this, since a lot of places will not take adult content of any kind. If you know of someplace, point us toward it!
