Hi, all!

My web serial Wonder City Stories is up to episode 85 for volume 2, and we've got about 6 episodes till the end of this story arc. I'm wrapping up some loose ends, but there's still important character development to come. So if you haven't checked in lately, this is a good time to catch up!

For new folks, Wonder City Stories is about postmodern superheroes who leave their spandex at the gym. I started writing it because I was tired of all my comic books being full of straight white boys, so my characters include women, POCs, queer people, elderly people, and disabled people. It's a world whose version of "Superman" is a short, round, middle-aged black woman and whose "Captain America" is a homeless veteran living out of her van.

If you want to see if you like the world and my writing without wading into the serial, I suggest the short story, "Truth, Lady Justice, and the American Way". It's got a different narrative voice than the serial, but it will give you a taste.

Today's Free Sketch Day is now closed.  Comments on the main entry are now screened.  I will continue finishing up the prompts that were left today, and will post them as comments to the main entry and to a separate entry later.  Thank you to all who participated today!

Good morning (or afternoon, as it were)! Once again, it is Tuesday, which means that it is the (somewhat) weekly Free Sketch Day that I host on my blog.  So feel free to drop by and leave your one word prompts.  Tips are welcome; any accrued will go towards the completion of "Frozen," unless otherwise specified by the contributor.

Hey everyone,

Here I am back again, and I'd like to link you to the first in a short series of polls regarding my upcoming first crowdfunding project.

I want to raise enough money to get one or more set of notecards or postcards printed. This first poll doesn't feature much in the way of details regarding the actual project, but is more just a way to get a feel for whether people would prefer notecards or post cards. And if anyone uses dwolla or if it's strictly paypal.

The second poll will be featuring a list of themes. The theme or themes with the highest number of votes will determine what sort of projects come first.

The third, and final, poll will allow for participants to vote on which they want printed. Once the funding goal is reached the image with the highest votes will be printed, if the funding goal is doubled the one with the second highest number of votes will be printed, and so on.

I've got an excellent list of incentives ready to go for participants, such as a collection of the printed cards, discounts in my etsy shop, and hi res desktop backgrounds of the image. In the event that more than one funding goal is reached participants may choose which image they would prefer, or in the event of receiving cards if they would like a combination.

Here's the first poll. It will be open for about a week and then I will post the second poll, along with some examples of my work. Please pass this around! The more the merrier!

EDIT: If you would like to see examples of some of my more recent work check out my most recent entry!  Featuring 4 works in 4 different medium.
