Wave Thirteen.

Excerpt:
"That you are both open to magic and understand how it makes one different is enough to make my heart sing."

Dear readers, we are now nearing the end of the story - the chapter before the last! Thank you for supporting me and giving me great feedback/comments. More so to the sponsors and those who give feedback - a big Thank You!

Now, the last chapter itself is rather long and it will be broken in two. Let me try this: I will post the first part (next week) and if the responses are good (via feedback or sponsorship), I will post the second part.

Likewise, if you like the story to continue, please indicate via feedback or donating to the cyber-tin. Mirra's world with its many places is still waiting to be explored.

Hi everyone... :)

I'm just two livejournal friends away from updating my pirate project, [livejournal.com profile] avepasifika, and I have time today to work on it... so if you've nothing to do, I'd invite you to come read. (And friend!)

Ave Pasifika is friend-funded, in that its updates are dependent on how many friends the livejournal has. It's definitely adults only and may contain triggers of various kinds.

Just an extract from the latest 'issue'... )

There is a new chapter up for The Roman View now. It is a bit early because this morning (before we took the dogs to the groomers and the morning was consumed by a small shopping venture to get some very necessary items) there was notification in my mail inbox that we had received a donation! The donation was from [livejournal.com profile] meritahut who does a wonderful Roman soap opera in graphic novel form - SPQR Blues. It has drama, intrigue, mystery, earthquakes, weddings, babies and bears! And Felix! Felix is a hunk! Check him out.

So, in light of this donation, I will be putting up a second chapter later in the day. And there will be a special acknowledgment for Klio (aka [livejournal.com profile] meritahut) in a later chapter.

This mornings chapter is XVII - Roman Poisons And Wrinkly Mutts. As usual the main site is Make A Wish Upon Tomorrow.

Obligatory teaser: As I advanced, dim scenes floated around me in a constantly shifting pattern. Watching these images, I began to recognize them. They were my life being played back to me by some unseen agency. Deeper into that darkened corridor I was led and a new horror began to assail me. I was getting cold with a bone deep chill that seemed to congeal my blood and stiffen my muscles.

ETA: As promised above there is another chapter up on The Roman View - XVIII - Roman Mutts and Parthia . . ..

And the teaser: The news was disquieting on all fronts. We had lost the war in Parthia. Oh, we had started out okay, winning battle after battle in the true Roman style. As our legions drove deeper into enemy territory, our supply lines were stretched to the limit. Then they were severed.

Several friends have mentioned that they have thought about trying a crowdfunded project -- but have a hard time getting started, finding ideas, and/or setting a personal deadline rather than working to an external deadline.

What do folks think about setting up some kind of prompt, challenge, or other activity for motivational purposes? I've seen these work pretty well in other contexts. LJ has a "writer's block" service that gives prompts for people to use in writing posts. Broad Universe has "mailing parties" where everyone is encouraged to submit manuscripts and report how many they've mailed. We could probably figure out something for art or other things besides writing, too.
