An update on the progress on funding for my first YOGAP radio production of "Celebrity Interview With Vick Shunnel," the comedy radio broadcast I'm trying to get funding for. It *was* $8, but as no one has donated a single cent to it, I've decided to drop the price down to $5.

To refresh everyone's memory: In it, Vick interviews Maggie McIntosh, the Discordian Grim Reaper who was arrested recently on charges of being a serial killer. (See this article for reference.) It stars my friend and roommate Lilla as Maggie McIntosh. It is almost 8 minutes long this time!

This link goes directly to the PayPal donate page. Please help out, every dollar helps. I'm still new to this and would like to make a living from this if I can.

I heard a few people talking about setting up a website where we could create a searchable index of CFC projects. Is there enough volunteer time to make that happen? We would need a server and someone to develop the database part. I'd be glad to help populate it.

We're nearing the point where the amount of projects we're tracking is too long for our sidebar, so having a single place to link to that allows people to search for the kinds of projects they'd want to consume would be great.

Thoughts? Show of hands?

Yesterday, I gave others A Peek into my KitchenStudio on [livejournal.com profile] therebirthofme. Today, I posted a poll in my personal journal for feedback. What I am wondering is whether I should add a donation button to these posts, or just to posts associated with finished works?

Just a heads-up:
I have added Social Vibe to Of Oysters, Pearls And Magic. It's totally free, but it also allows you to support a charity of your choice, in my case: anti-whaling.

Last week was Icon Week, when we invited everyone to make and post "crowdfunding" icons. On Monday we asked people to nominate their favorite icons. Now we're holding a poll to select the [livejournal.com profile] crowdfunding default icon. All members are encouraged to vote because this will affect the whole community. Below are the options in order of nomination:

"Crowdfunding" butterfly ship

"Touch Magic" star in hands

"Help Something Grow" leaves in hands

Would there be an interest in production of crowdfunding physical items? If such things are produced, what sort of margin, if any, on those items, would be acceptable?

I have a block of time in the next couple days during which I am putting together physical products for a couple other places, and it would be pretty straightforward to do so for this community if there's a desire for it.

Of note: A margin on such a product is the percentage of total cost of a given item that the artist/producer makes on purchase of said product. Anyone who did this and set a margin would make money if the products sold. I tend to think it's useful to have good looking community related things, but am perfectly aware that part of my interest in designing such would be self-interest, and want to be sure that's in keeping with what people here would expect before I invest the time on such products.

If it were a go, I'd then do a followup post asking what sorts of products, product art, and so forth the community would be interested in.
