These caught my eye:
Evolution by natural selection has given rise to societies, altruism, empathy and kindness. Why and how did this happen? We are discovering new insights from a surprising source: the cooperative and intelligent vampire bat.
Atmospheric rivers are streams of water vapor that deliver enormous amounts of moisture to the continents. In addition to moisture, they also transfer large amounts of heat (as latent heat), yet they are poorly understood.
Much of our current understanding of how large mountain belts evolve is informed from study of the Himalaya. New ideas based on the Himalaya indicate that our traditional views of mountain building may be completely incorrect.
