You might look into the safety catches used on love spells. A resonance love spell searches for an already compatible pattern, rather than trying to force someone to match. So on the money side, if a person had a business, the spell would look for customers who wanted that kind of product/service; and if seeking a job, would look for an employer wishing for such an applicant.
