The following poems have come from tonight's edition of Poetry for the Masses.
Tutti i Santi Ognissnati, which is part of the Silk Road Allies 'verse, is a commentary on the similarities between Italy and China's cultural traditions, especially in the honoring of their dead. This poem was prompted by
ysabetwordsmith and has been posted as the first freebie.
Also from
ysabetwordsmith's prompt, Toasting Pumpkin seeds, I got the poem 'Fall Night Perfection.' This poem is a riff on the traditional haiku, following a rhythm of 5-7-7-5 syllables.
From new prompter,
starcat_jewel, I have the poem 'This is the New Year', which combines the idea of autumn as the idea of harvest, and the new year (literally and figuratively).
From
wyld_dandelyon's prompts, I have the poems, 'Morning Dew' and 'Understanding'. Both these poems fall in the Eye of the Oracle 'verse, although, they take place after the main story. 'Morning Dew' takes place roughly a month after the story's end, while 'Understanding' is a look into the more near-to-distant future.
This month's Poetry for the Masses is a pay-what-you-will affair. At $10, I will post an additional freebie (perhaps the Schrodinger Heroes poem? which as prompted by
wyld_dandelyon. If I reach $13, I will post a 13-word horror story for the season. A second such story will be written/posted at $26, 39, etc, etc.
Due to the inclement weather, prompts will be extended through tomorrow evening. So, if you want to prompt, there's still time!
