And the Winner Is...
Jul. 6th, 2009 11:50 amResults are in from last week's poll about the community name. A total of 23 people voted, which is excellent participation, so thank you all for your enthusiasm. There were 9 votes in favor of keeping the current name and 13 votes in favor of changing to "crowdfunding." Our two new maintainers have variously volunteered to provide funding for the name-change fee and to handle the technicalities of the changeover.
haikujaguar and
talkstowolves, you'll need to coordinate with each other who is doing what.
What This Means for You
If everything works as advertised, links pointing to the communty by its old name will automatically forward traffic to the new name. So it shouldn't be necessary to track back and change previous links by hand.
Watch for the new name to appear. Try and remember to use that one in future references to this community, instead of the old name.
Once the new name appears, it would be useful for members to promote it by announcing the name change in your blog(s) and/or by writing articles or posts about crowdfunding in the context of creative endeavors.
You may still use your choice of the terms "crowdfunding" and/or "cyberfunded creativity" to describe projects or concepts.
Adding "crowdfunding" and "cyberfunded creativity" to your Interests list on your LJ profile page helps connect people with similar interests, and also helps them find this community.
