On the sidewalk, crow feathers and dry grass. Black gloss dusted and smudged with white ash, fading under the gray of fall rains.
Fire season has become unexceptional. Breathing is considered optional. We meditate to a virtual aquarium. We compensate until we can’t.
Try it; just give it a try. Try harder. Don’t make it look so hard. Take care. Take care of yourself. Take care of yourself so we don’t have to. Take the time but don’t take too long.
