A wired keyboard and a wired mouse with a ball on the bottom both work for me. Wireless/laser versions either do not work at all, behave so erratically as to be unusable, or last about 2 weeks.
A landline phone is annoying but usable. A cell phone is very difficult to use, barely functional for me, and highly prone to problems; but I can answer it if it rings and make out some of what's said. A connection through a vehicle's speakerphone or any other signal-to-air device is gibberish. It's not that I have bad hearing: it's that my hearing is so good I'm used to relying on things that either aren't there in certain types of transmission or get garbled. I also need an earpiece over my ear to shut out background sound interference. And the technology is tracking from something that is merely unpleasant to use, to barely usable, to not usable.
This is why I've gotten so leery of buying new things. Often they work less well than older models, or not at all, and the older ones that worked are becoming unavailable. Which is a nuisance with entertainment and a disaster for loadbearing devices required to function in modern life.
