Introducing Myself

My name is Jonathan W. Sodt, and I've been the author of Harmless Free Radicals since 2000. Whenever I publish something under the pseudonym of "Fenmere, the Worm" it is associated with that comic.

I do several other things, too, though! I'm an illustrator and graphic designer, and have started several other comic projects as well (none of them finished yet). Harmless Free Radicals is ongoing though, with a few satellite comics.

I love cartooning and illustrating. I'd like to get better at it both professionally and as my highest art form. But I'm also into marketing, thanks to my career, and lately I've been playing around with different ways of crowd funding or crowd sourcing a single illustration. I really like the idea of recreating that kindergarten activity of the group mural online. But I also enjoy drawing what people tell me to draw. And combining those two things might work out really well.

I'm super new to the crowd funding scene, though. I've invested very lightly in a couple of projects, and watched my friend djinni work on his icon day and art card explosion. I'd like to invest more, myself, but I need more of a cash flow, so that's another reason to start up my own projects and see where they go.

I'm not using Kickstarter or Indigogo for it, because it's too much of a flash in the pan for either of those yet, and I need some flexibility in how I set up the project each week. But I'm thinking of using one of those to publish my next graphic novel. Totally looking for advice there, too.
