I've got two sketches currently in crowdfunding, one with $5 increments and one with $2 increments.

How does crowdfunding these sketches work? Each donation sponsors additional work on the piece, and the patron who donates the most will receive the original (by random draw, if there is a tie!). Those sponsors who don't win the original will receive an ACEO print of the finished piece. I will also pick randomly among people who link to the post to receive a free ACEO print of their choice of the two pieces. (Let me know that you've linked!)

You can see the current progress (and old versions!) of these two sketches, and a recently finished piece, in my journal, here: http://ellenmillion.livejournal.com/1232763.html

I've been remiss about posting update notices for "Hiraeth" here, so I've decided to have a go with at least doing roundups on the first Monday of each month:
story installments since the last mention here are parts nineteen and twenty, which wrapped up a small arc and began another.

Thanks to all who've been following along with the erratically-published adventures of a vampire trying to lead a quiet and moral life in this increasingly inconvenient modern world, and remember that the story also has a dedicated DreamWidth comm for your reading convenience!

I've been (extremely!) remiss about posting update notices for "Hiraeth" over here on the DW side, so I've decided to have a go with at least doing roundups on the first Monday of each month:
story installments since the last mention here are parts seventeen, eighteen, nineteen and twenty, which made up a small arc and began another.

Thanks to all who've been following along with the erratically-published adventures of a vampire trying to lead a quiet and moral life in this increasingly inconvenient modern world!

So in the middle of writing RAVEN CALLS–which, like all the Walker Papers, is a first-person point of view story told by Joanne Walker–something happened: for the first time ever I had the urge to lark off, change viewpoint characters, and tell somebody else’s story.

Gary’s story, in fact. Gary Muldoon is the 74 year old cab driver whose vehicle shaman Joanne Walker gets in in the first chapter of URBAN SHAMAN--and who becomes Joanne's sidekick and teacher in the series. People have been asking me for Gary's story since the Walker Papers began, and I suddenly realized what it was, so it's a Kickstarter campaign for me!

NO DOMINION

NO DOMINION is up for funding!

Recently widowed after nearly fifty years of marriage, Gary Muldoon had given up on adventure. Then shaman Joanne Walker climbed into the back seat of his cab, and since then, Gary has trifled with gods, met mystics, slain zombies and ridden with the Wild Hunt.

But now he must leave Joanne's side to face a battle only he can win. Because as their long battle against a dark magic-user races toward its climax, it becomes clear that it was not illness that took Annie's life, but their enemy's long and deadly touch.

Though lovers be lost, love shall not...
...AND DEATH SHALL HAVE NO DOMINION
.

Read the beginning of URBAN SHAMAN from Gary's point of view for a taste of the novella's voice! (I really *can’t* use a teaser from the actual story as part of the incentive text, because it starts with a scene from RAVEN CALLS and no way no how am I spoiling that scene. :) So I’ve written the first couple chapters of URBAN SHAMAN from Gary’s point of view for a bit of flavor text as to what kind of voice the novella will be in. Enjoy!)

Full disclosure: I launched the Kickstarter campaign on Saturday and it's already reached full funding, so we're heading into Awesome Perks territory now. I'm excited and astonished and thrilled, and hope to be able to reach some new readers with this project!
