You do not need to be a member of, or familiar with, Torn World to leave a generic prompt. Something like 'a spring day' or 'something green' is plenty specific, or you can make a general theme request like 'a body-positive story' or 'something that shows respect for the earth.'

Our creators may come up with artwork, fiction or poetry to your prompt, and you will get a look at the draft you inspire, even if the final piece is reserved for subscribers at our site.

Incentives this month include karma for prompters and credits for creative participants. If you'd like to know more about Torn World, I recommend starting here!

aeternal_eckho is a new web-based, immersive, character-focused storytelling and art project that centers around the worlds of the fae. It's all still in its early stages, but the story is starting to take shape, and more characters will be added, illustrated, and explored in detail as time goes on. You all are more than welcome follow the community or add to your feeds, and comment, interact with the characters. They like that. ;) Donations to support the work I've put into this project are very much appreciated but not required; there's a PayPal icon on the bottom of the profile page.  I hope to see some of you there!

I am Eckho. I don't remember my real name, or where I came from, or why I seem so different from those that inhabit this world. I don't know why I can shift space with a thought, or why people seem to see something expected and mundane in me, rather than my true form. I don't know why I am drawn to this quaint little coffee shop, or who its mysterious proprieter Emilie is-- no one seems to know of her. I don't know why there is a curtain leading to a deep darkness in the back of the coffee shop, one that no one but me seems to be aware of. I'm afraid of it, I think.

There are others like me. Of this I am certain. I've seen one, though I don't know who he is, and I can't be certain if I should trust him. I'm not sure why.

I tell my story here. Others will join in, those whom I come into contact with, writing of their own experiences and perspectives. All are welcome to watch the community, to comment and interact with us. Not all of us are kind, but we will endeavor to respond to those who take the time to speak with us.

kmessner is organizing a project, "Created in the Path of Irene." The idea is to write, draw, etc. something while Hurricane Irene is whomping the east coast. Those of you who are into crowdfunding might consider putting a donation button on your post, and passing any donations along to a charity that helps victims of violent weather.
