Thank you all for participating in the recent discussion about where the Rose & Bay Awards are and where they're headed next.  I have collated some of the requests and issues into a poll to gauge overall interests.

Your input is encouraged.  There is no guarantee that any given solution, however popular, will prove feasible to implement.  We will do our best.  In particular, some of the most-requested items (a Crowdfunding hub site, so the Rose & Bay Awards could move off of LJ; a prize pool) depend on your support -- they require volunteers, paid staff, and/or donations.  Some other items are relatively straightforward rule changes that we can simply note as changes for next year's process if enough people want them.  Please think carefully about what you want the most and what you are willing/able to do in order to make it happen.  The Rose & Bay Awards depend on you to grow from a small-scale award to something really boat-rocking.

There is now a Rose & Bay Awards poll based on the recent discussion about future improvements.  Your input is encouraged.  (If you're new to this topic, please check out the 2011 Rose & Bay Awards landing page.)

Righto, this is our first ever foray into crowdfunding, and I hope this post is readable, I am racing around shattered with projects at the moment!

I am one of the two co-founders of the South Devon Players community theatre company, which is based in the South West Of England. We are a non-profit group, specialising in historically themed productions and won the Creativity In The Community Award 2010 last September.
With the government cutting most funding to the arts, across the board, we are struggling to keep going and develop new projects, and therefore have signed up to various fundraising links, as well as setting up a crowdfunding project for one of our next ventures.
You only need to google "south devon players" to find us splattered all over the internet if you need to check we really exist. :)

You can follow us via our main website http://southdevonplayers.weebly.com, or Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=46022922794), or twitter @sdevonplayers.
Or on livejournal, we are at [livejournal.com profile] sdp_theatre because you can never have too much social networking!
