Update: Art for Haiti relief

Drop by therebirthofme to see the new sketch, now incorporating a heart coconut and a pregnant belly globe. I am soliciting ideas for things to put in the painting.  The finished painting will be auctioned and the proceeds donated to Haiti relief.

As ysabetwordsmith so graciously put it:

"It's not just an ordinary painting ... it is turning into a synthesis of people's compassion and creativity.  There was this horrible earthquake in Haiti, and now we are coming together to help.  We are thinking about what makes Haiti a special place, what it means to us, and putting those images into this painting.  We are thinking about what makes people strong, and loving, and caring ... putting those images into this painting.  So it's becoming a kind of cultural monument that embodies this moment in time, the disaster, our response to it, all taken inside the artist and alloyed together to create this painting.  Wow."

I think that it makes quite literal the idea the idea that the artist is a vessel through which creativity flows.
