A friend tipped me to the KickStarter website. It's billed as "a funding platform for artists, designers, filmmakers, musicians, journalists, inventors, explorers..." I'm particularly intrigued by the journalist angle, in a world where fact-checking and reporting are fast evaporating under the ruthless sun of corporate surveillance. I like the idea of inviting the world at large to buy you a muck-rake!
