My friend, cleothyla, who makes the wristwarmers noted in this post, has just received some very devastating news concerning the kitty she was trying to raise money for.

For the link-phobic here is the text from her journal: We went to another vet today to see if they could do the exploratory surgery on a payment plan and they were up front to us that given the condition she is in, it would be kinder just to take her home and keep her free from pain. She has lost 4 pounds and when she's normally 10 pounds, that showed us that she was declining rapidly. So I would like to thank the people who have sent us donations. We have used that money for this last appointment and for pain meds to keep her more comfortable. We will be doing kitty hospice and making sure she isn't in any pain.

She will still be doing the wristwarmers as that is one source of income for her, but the urgency has abated due to the news.
