[livejournal.com profile] je_reviens pointed me to an article about word-of-mouth advertising, saying:

This article has a lot of connections to cyberfunded creativity:

I think you will find it helpful and fascinating. You may, with more web knowledge and time, be able to create a Netflix or Amazon like website for cyberfunded creativity. It would be a lot of work but I think your review blog is one small step in that direction.

That's Hypatia's Hoard of Reviews she's talking about, by the way. I've recently started doing more with the reviews, such as adding links to the author's website or blog if one is available, and linking to the first book or last book in a series. After a while, the Links page is going to grow into a deep resource for finding authors online.

Anyhow, we were talking earlier about what kind of things we would need an organization for, rather than individuals. Building a CFC directory and rating site would definitely qualify. It would be a tremendous resource, but for best effect, would require teamwork. I'm good at conceptual planning of websites, and I'm a great networker, but I don't write code. We have some other folks around who do, and some who are good with graphics. If CFC is really going to take off, sooner or later it will need a hub site -- probably sooner. This community is a good start, but it's limited in features and exposure. We're going to outgrow it.

Thoughts?
