At the end of October, I decided to write one story or poem for each day in November. I titled the project "Half Sick of Shadows" from the line in "The Lady of Shallot." My conditions on the project were that planned missing days were allowed provided I worked to make them up and had a good reason. Unplanned days would only happen for exceptional reasons.
Then my grandfather (who lived quite far from me) passed away. I decided to press onward. I set a planned break for the time I'd be in Florida, along with establishing the flexibility of being unsure of whether it would be possible during the day before.
Currently, I've written over ten thousand words. I've written seven stories and three poems. Hopefully, I'll make up the two missing days in the near future. And I've even gotten a few donations.
So far, this has been very rewarding. I was afraid I'd trail off after dealing with family business, but, I've come back pretty strongly. Writing in front of an audience is a very different mindset.
If you haven't taken a look yet, I'd
invite you to take a look now. From here out, there should be posts every day, and, a few double-post days.
Now, after a long day spent mostly in airports, I'm going to bed. :)
