Hello!
I am the creator of Dr. Julius T. Roundbottom, Steampunk Naturalist. Dr. Roundbottom takes photographs, makes podcasts, and writes about his research in the City, into the nature of the native faery species that live in his urban environment.
The site updates weekly, alternating between photo-centric posts and new podcasts. Perhaps one of the most fun aspects of the site is that the comment community plays along, with many readers creating their own personas to participate. The cast of characters in the site respond to these commenters and their suggestions influence the course of the story.
To fund the research, I sell memberships in the Roundbottom Foundation, which includes a print of one of four photos, a member card, and a letter of thanks, all created within the world of Roundbottom for $35, purchasable on site. All other photos on the site not included as options in the membership are available in limited editions of 10, sold for $125 at a size of 16 by 18 inches. Behind the cut, I've included a few of the good doctor's "photonic captures." If you find it interesting, check it out at Clockpunk.com!
