Today's Tech Nation on NPR has an interesting and inspiring story about the phenomena of crowdsourcing to make projects happen.

While crowdsourcing isn't quite the same thing as cyberfunded creativity as it tends to be examined here, the story could be of interest to some of you. Crowdsourcing may not fund creativity traditionally, but it may offer a way for the cyberconnected to spread out projects to other willing contributors that would make them possible. I'm thinking of [livejournal.com profile] shadesong's calls for art to accompany the Shayara stories, as one example.

[livejournal.com profile] chimera_fancies has posted about how she started making her poetic pendants for fun, and it's turned into a serious business. This is a craft-for-commission version of cyberfunded creativity in which she starts with customer input and does creative things with it. Right now she's booked through Christmas!
