A couple more newbie questions

Hello, all. I have two more questions for you. :)

1. Does the price listed for stories mean the money you need to receive, or the money that your patrons need to pay, in cases where intermediaries such as PayPal take a cut?

2.What do you do if you write things but no one buys anything from your first batch or first several works?

Thank you.

1. The price your patrons need to pay. In some states and countries, it's actually illegal to add a surcharge to a listed price to pay money-handling fees.

1. List their cost; never expect a customer to have to do extra work (like math) to figure out how or what to pay!

2. That's par for the course. Be sure you have enough free sample that a potentially interested customer has a good idea of what they'd get, and prepare to be patient. Building an audience is a slow and rocky road! Also, having a 'trunk' of finished but unsold work can be very valuable down the road, and everything you write will hone your skill, so don't ever consider it a waste to create things.

2. That happens pretty often. Though I'm currently sold out, I planned to keep the orphaned prompts in my back pocket, and then, when I had enough of them, throw a half-price sale. Other options are using them as bonuses or freebies later down the line.
