Your Questions on Running a Kickstarter

I'm currently working on a tiny book of Kickstarter tips; I've got a good bit of material, but I'd welcome a chance to see if I've hit all the common questions (or the uncommon ones!). I'd love to hear your questions about running a campaign, if you have them! In the comments here is great. :)

Hmm...

* How do I tell if my project is right for crowdfunding? If it needs all-or-nothing or keep-what-you-get fundraising?

* How do I get started with a Kickstarter?

* What are the pros and cons of Kickstarter compared with IndieGoGo and other crowdfunding fundraiser sites?

* How do I keep interest alive during the course of the fundraiser campaign?

* What are some good ways to promote a Kickstarter project?

* How do I shift from fundraising to production after the period closes, and keep touch with my audience during the next phase?

Are there any good online tutorials for how to make the video?

Are there any statistics as to what kind of incentives are attractive to people?

Hmm.

How do I gauge whether I've built up enough of a fan base to support a Kickstarter? Or, how do I gauge how big a Kickstarter goal my fan base would support?

How often should I write updates?

What common qualities do popular projects have?

Is it generally more sucessful to do a Kickstarter alone or with a small group?

What software do people use to make the video? Are there free versions?

What places do people promote their Kickstarters?

Should promotion be heaviest at the beginning or at the very end? Or steady all through?
